Digital Maps
The following maps from Olde Meck's Map Collection have been digitized and made available online to assist researchers in locating their ancestors within Mecklenburg County and North Carolina. These maps can be helpful to pinpoint locations near creeks, churches, major roads, etc. For a complete list of Olde Meck's maps, check our Online Catalog.
Olde Meck would like to thank Dr. Peter Perdinando, UNC Charlotte History Professor, and a team of his history students who scanned and digitized several of Olde Meck's oversized historical maps using their large-format scanner.
We have provided our digital maps in PDF and JPG image formats:
- Column 1 lists the map name and author with the link to the PDF version. Some users find the PDF easier to use.
- Column 2 shows the maps that were scanned and digitized by the UNC Charlotte team.
- Column 3 provides a link to the JPG image of the map. Some users prefer the JPG image version.
- For both the PDF and JPG image versions, you may want to save the map to your computer for use later and for better view and navigation controls.
Click the link for the map you want to see. The map will normally open in your PDF viewer or web browser. Some of the larger-sized maps may take a few moments to appear on your screen.
